Dog Dawn Headshot

Dawn

I am the owner of Rose Cottage Doggy Day care and luxury doggy hotel. I have several years of experience in the dog care sector, working alongside all different dog breeds and working alongside their owners to gain a better understanding of the care needs of their beloved pet in order for me to deliver the highest standard of care possible.

I’m passionate about dogs always have been all my life since I volunteered in a boarding kennels at the age of 13 and I got all the ‘poo jobs’ literally but I loved it!!

After studying dog behaviour and completing a grooming course and other dog related courses and working for other kennel owners I have a broad range of knowledge and I have applied this at RC. I only took the best bits from the other kennels. I empower my staff to work and think as I do. They are just as passionate about their roles with in RC as I am and they all strive daily to provide each and every dog with the love and care they all need.

We take the Board out of boarding by allowing all our dogs to be outside playing and socialising with other canine companions they are only in kennels to sleep! We have designed RC around the dogs desires to be free and the need for play in a safe secure environment monitored by trained loving staff. Here are my staff members and their take on RC. Please watch their video bio’s.

Chris

Hi i’m Chris, one of the animal care assistants here at Rose Cottage.

I love to exercise your dogs in all weather by taking them out in small manageable packs to burn off energy around the 5 1/2 acres at Rose Cottage.

My love for dogs has always been there since I was young. Dogs are family and I love that my job is spending all day with them.

Outside work, I love watching / playing all sports.

I am a massive Sheffield Wednesday fan! I love being outside walking and spending time with my 4 children, 2 girls and 2 boys who are my absolute world.

Helen

Hi, I’m Helen, one of the animal care assistants, it’s my responsibility to make sure the dogs here at Rose Cottage are kept happy.

When I’m not playing, walking and cleaning up after the dogs here, I have three dogs of my own. Two spaniels and a German shepherd. I must be mad because I also have 4 Step children at home that keep me very busy.

When I find some free time, I enjoy painting, and because dogs are my passion in life, I often find myself doing doggy doodles, and display and sell them at local art shows.

Sharon

Hi, I’m Sharon — but most people call me Shaz!

I was lucky enough to join the team at Rose Cottage in 2022, taking on the role of Marketing and Customer relations.

My day-to-day includes running our social media, managing the Dogland Deals shop, coordinating customer relations, and planning events. I also love being out on the yard, dishing out cuddles to all our four-legged guests — it’s the best part of the job!

I’m absolutely animal-mad and adore spending time with my two fur babies:

🐾 Minx Moo Monroe, my sassy Jack Russell

🐾 Pixie Pip, my cheeky Miniature Dachshund

We even have our own caravan, lovingly named the “Minx & Pixie Memory Maker”, which we take on holidays and long weekend adventures.

Before this, I managed gyms — but animals (especially dogs!) have always been my true passion. Being at Rose Cottage really is my dream job.

The team here is incredible, the facilities are top-notch, and seeing all the excited pups arrive to play with their furry friends never fails to warm my heart. 💕🐶

Lilly

Meet Lilly – Our New Trainee Support Dog at Dogland

We’re thrilled to introduce the newest and most enthusiastic member of the Dogland team – Lilly, our trainee support dog! Lilly is embarking on an exciting apprenticeship journey with us, combining her natural love for dogs with a growing passion for customer care. Her warm presence and eagerness to help make her a perfect fit for the Dogland family.

Lilly’s role as a trainee support dog is all about building connections – not just with our four-legged friends, but with the people who care for them. Whether she’s offering a calming presence in our reception area, greeting our guests who have a wagging tail.  Lilly is learning how to support both pets and people alike. Her apprenticeship allows her to develop essential life and communication skills while being an integral part of a team that shares her passion.

Joining Dogland was a natural step for Lilly because when she was just 4 years old she helped her mum Dawn start the business. With a heart full of enthusiasm and an instinctive sense of empathy, she’s embracing every opportunity to grow and make a difference.

Through daily interactions, supervised training, and plenty of play, Lilly is quickly becoming a valued member of the support team – bringing joy and glamour to the office.

At Dogland, we believe in nurturing potential, whether it’s in people or pups. Lilly’s journey as a trainee support dog is just beginning, and we’re so proud to be part of her own journey.

We look forward to seeing her continue to blossom in her role, learning from the best and helping us create a welcoming and supportive environment for every visitor – two- or four-legged!

Something you don’t know about Lilly is she was a professional gymnast!! So she will be back flipping into work!!

Katie

I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember and have been lucky enough to work with them for a few years now. What really drew me to Dogland Rose Cottage is the incredible amount of thought, care, and attention that’s gone into creating such a lovely, safe space for dogs —especially the beautifully designed paddocks. It’s clear how much love has gone into it all, and I’m proud to be part of it.

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me with my own dog, Ollie, or taking part in a local quiz with my team.

Will

Hi, my name’s Will, and my dog is called Monty! 🐶

I’ve always had a passion for animals and anything to do with nature – it’s where I feel most at home. When I’m not exploring the outdoors or hanging out with Monty, you’ll probably find me spending time with friends or enjoying live music at gigs and concerts.

I love discovering new places and trying new things, which is why DogLand is the perfect fit for me. The best part? Working alongside an amazing team and gaining valuable skills every day while doing something I truly enjoy.

Mark

Hi, I’m Mark, Chief Operating Officer at Rose Cottage, but prefer the title “Alpha Dog”.

Unlike the rest of the team, I spend most of my time indoors dealing with admin, business growth & development, and generally improving processes and systems to ensure the business runs smoothly.

I joined the Business in February 2025 and get to bring my 4½ year old Labrador, Ruby with me most days…which she loves.

Before joining the team, I was a customer at Rose Cottage and also worked as Dawn’s Business Coach…so I was destined to work here.

Outside work, I love going on walking holidays with my wife and Ruby, spending time with my Grandchildren, going to the gym and skydiving (when I get the chance)

Sarah

Hi, I’m Sarah. I had been a volunteer here at Rose Cottage for a while and then was offered a job as a Kennel assistant.

I love working here and spending time with all the dogs, the best bit is all the cuddles I get.

I have a cat called  Henry and my Guinea pig was called Bendi.

I am proud to say I have built some great bonds with staff and dogs and love keeping the dogs entertained.
